Traditional ceremonial Japanese lacquered jubako box storage box. 3 tier with beautiful sakura design painted on an outstanding red-orange lacquer. 3 small lacquered plates are included.

The cherry flowers are in golden , silver white and orange reflects. This set is an "Nashimatsuan lacquer ware.

Originally, "Nashimatsuan" is a brand of women's kimono made by women. The delicacy of the patterns, the sakura being the main one, led this brand to develop towards the ceramic but also the lacquer. Nashimatsuan blends traditional Japanese beauty with modern sensibilities.

In addition to being a very decorative object which will attract the eye, you can also store your most precious objects there.

The lacquer ware of Japan excels in its durability as well in its fine craftmanship. it can withstand humidity and changes temperature.

Another feature of the Japanese lacquer ware is use of different techniques of Maki-e (inlaid lacquer) and Chinkin (gold carving). Maki-e is a method of sprinkling lacquer ware with gold and silver dusts or beautiful pieces of sea shells in various designs. Chinkin is an art of carving the surface of lacquer ware and filling the engraved designs with gold leaf.

Some lacquer wares of the highest quality are said to undergo more than 100 stages before they are completed.

The most famous japans area Wajima-nuri', popular for its durability and wide practicability for domestic use. Shunkei-nuri characterized by thinly coated brownish lacquer, and Kamakura-bori' with elaborate carving and layers of lacquer in black and vermillion.
